Contract signing for two electric ferries

We are kickstarting the autumn by announcing that we have signed a comprehensive design and engineering contract for two electric ferries to be built at Özata Shipyard in Turkey. The ferries are 76.85 meters long and will have the capacity to carry 202 passengers and 60 vehicles. The battery capacity is 1960 kWh.

We have designed and developed these emission-free ferries in close collaboration with Torghatten Nord, and they will operate on the Festvåg – Misten route, connecting the road between Bodø and Kjerringøy in Nordland. The ferries contribute to yet another emission-free and environmentally friendly fjord crossing, perfectly aligned with Torghatten Nord’s forward-thinking focus on green fleet renewal. We are very grateful that Torghatten Nord once again shows trust in us and our expertise in green and future-oriented low-energy design.

Özata Shipyard has taken the opportunity today to announce the contract signing at the world’s leading maritime trade fair, SMM, in Hamburg, with over 2,000 exhibitors and around 40,000 visitors from all over the world.

We congratulate all involved parties and look forward to good cooperation with Torghatten Nord and Özata Shipyard throughout the construction period.
